Waiting-The Stuck Inner Child

Angelica Horvatic

Very often in intuitive readings I see and deeply feel how grown adults in their lives wait on other people to make decisions for them.

Or they wait for ‘something to happen’, which would then change their challenging situation they feel stuck in.

For many years a woman in her 60’s waited for her husband to make a decision to leave her and their marriage.

At one point during our reading she asked me angrily: “Why didn’t / doesn’t he leave me?”

In another reading, a divorced man in his mid-40’s waited for his 10yrs old daughter to make many decisions, which him and her mother, as her parents, were supposed to make.

When his daughter was angry with him, he would usually wait for her to come up to him instead of him as her father comforted her.

Every time I enter the energy field of a grown adult who is waiting on someone or something, in their body I get this extreme sense of powerlessness and stuckness.

I feel a lot of fear, freeze and numbness.

And I also feel everything but being in an adult body.

I feel very small.

I don’t feel I am able to do much for myself.

I feel I am a little child and I keep waiting for other people to take care of me, to help me and to make decisions for me.

And I blame them and I get very angry, when they fail at their job.

In intuitive readings I often see this as a child sitting and waiting at the door.

And doors are not opening.

Because of complex childhood trauma, many of us are stuck in inner child aspects throughout our life.

Often, only at work we are operating from our adult perspective.

In our closest relationships our adult self is usually missing and our inner child is running the show.

Every time we wait ( and usually blame someone or something for this waiting ), we are deeply stuck in inner child aspects, where we feel we are not able to do it ourselves.

Most people aren’t aware of this.

If this resonates with you, what could help you heal your inner child is a trauma informed therapist.
