Talking with my husband about social anxiety, it dawned on me – if more people in this world would more often hear these three words: No One Cares – there could be less social anxiety, self esteem issues and all sorts of destructive behaviours, obsessive compulsive disorders, eating disorders, social phobias, body dysmorphic disorders, workaholism, self harm, substance abuse, addictions, clinical depression, chronic stress, heart diseases and so on…….
Basically – our overall mental, emotional and physical health could massively improve!
Especially now, in times when social media is taking over our lives.
So repeat after me:
No one really cares about you.
You are NOT the centre of the Universe.
Even your family and friends who might love you dearly, don’t care about you nearly as much as you care about yourself.
They might look and sound to you as if you are on top of their mind, but the truth is: everyone is too busy with themselves.
This might sound harsh, but it’s the fact, which could potentially set you FREE.
If you would go about your life with that notion, you might be less worried, afraid or intimidated with the way you look and sound, the mistakes you make, and all the potential failures.
You would be less bothered by people’s perceptions, judgements, opinions and criticism.
Which would then give you more focus, time and mental, emotional and physical energy to be authentic to your own self.
To be YOU.
To steer your life in the direction YOU want.
Because at the end of the day, only YOU know what makes you truly happy.
So go on. Be yourself. Go for what you want and need. Without apologising or waiting for external approval.
Because nobody really cares anyway, and the sooner you get this, the sooner you can start LIVING.
